What an Academy is

Where discipleship happens

Charter Congregations

As with troops in American Heritage Girls (AHG) and in Trail Life USA (TLUSA), each Academy will be owned and operated by a local church congregation that has chartered with Kairos Academy Pathfinders (KAP). Such annually-renewable charters function in much the same way that a franchise agreement does. The Academy will operate as a ministry of the church that uses KAP's program (materials and tools) to foster parent-led discipleship of the children in their community. Each member of the Academy shall be a registered member of KAP and that membership will pay for access to KAP's discipleship tools.

A Structured Team of Leaders

The leadership structure of an Academy will be broadly similar to the leadership structure of Troops in AHG and TLUSA. The leadership team will be trained to assemble and guide the Academy community and to help the parents use the KAP tools of discipleship to lead each child in the path he should follow. The leaders of each Academy shall be selected by the Charter Congregation.

A Community of Parents Pulling in the Same Direction

In an Academy, parent-led education will take place in the context of a community. That community will commit to working together to enable parents to disciple the whole child. Success is enabling each child to truly master each subject they study and to see how all that they learn fits into knowing and following Jesus–-the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

What we will provide to each Academy

Tools to promote effective discipleship

Coaching and Training to Equip Leaders and Parents

At Kairos Academy Pathfinders, we seek to equip each adult member with the tools they need to succeed in discipling those in their care. Training modules, both written and video, will present how each part of the program works. Coaches, trained as active listeners, will work with leaders and parents to turn that knowledge into wise and effective discipleship of their children.

Assessments to Guide Discipleship Choices

Every child is unique today and has a unique destiny to fulfill in the Lord tomorrow. God has a unique plan for the maturation and growth of each of us. We are building the assessment tools parents and leaders will use to understand that present uniqueness and to work effectively to form each child for his future. Our tools are being designed to help parents choose curriculum wisely, to guide choices in how to build life skills, to provide insight into how to teach each child how to work with others, and more.

Curriculum to Live Out Discipleship

Discipleship is much more than just academic education. Each child is called to fulfill the greatest commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” We are building tools to connect parents with the best possible curriculum for their children--writing great Christ-focused curriculum and building a database of reviews of published curriculum. Come help us create the gateway to connect each child with the right curriculum–tools and materials that bring each subject alive to them in a way that moves them along the path God has for their lives.
