Every child is unique today and has a unique destiny to fulfill in the Lord tomorrow. God has a unique plan for the maturation and growth of each of us. As parents engage in their calling to disciple their children, knowing their children well can go a long way toward making their efforts fruitful and well directed.
At Kairos Academy Pathfinders, we are building the assessment tools parents and leaders will use to understand that present uniqueness and to work effectively to form each child for his future. Our tools are being designed to help parents choose curriculum wisely, to guide choices in how to build life skills, to provide insight into how to teach each child how to work with others, and more. Academy leaders and Kairos Academy Pathfinders coaches will help parents understand their children as well, through assistance with interpretation and application of the results.
Individually, each assessment provides insight into different aspects of a child. Together, they can be used to develop a profile for the whole person. However, each assessment merely provides a snapshot of the state of the child when he took the assessment. Many people will give slightly different answers each time they go through a given sort of assessment. In the long run, we envision supplementing assessments with regular inquiries via an app that ask questions of individuals at different times of the day or in different settings that are aimed at getting a more comprehensive picture of how each person sees himself than can be gained in one-time assessments taken in one particular setting.
